X-Tokyo is a vision for the future—one that believes firmly in the potential of cities to become more resilient, more inclusive, and more alive. Located in the Tsukiji district of Tokyo, X-Tokyo is a transformative mixed-use development that intertwines four key pillars: resilience, culture, economy, and connectivity. Just like the letter "X", the design symbolizes intersection, hybridity, and emergence.

X-Tokyo’s design framework is structured around four core dimensions:
  • Resilience: Addressing flood risk via sponge city systems, elevated green belts, and super levees along the Sumida River.
  • Culture: Reviving Tokyo’s sports and arts culture through a new stadium, anime bazaar, cultural centers, and waterfront performance venues.
  • Economy: Stimulating urban vitality through creative industries, tourism loops, and a multi-phased development anchored in public-private finance.
  • Connectivity: Enhancing walkability and multi-modal transit hubs that integrate metro, bus, ferry, and bike systems.
